                                                           REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

Last year was the first Forest Boundary Hike (FBH) for some years and the first to be hosted by the 1st Hainault Scout Group. This year, in conjunction with the Loughton & Epping Forest Amateur Radio Society, is set to be even better, with completely new classes and revised rules amongst other things which will enable as many young people and adults to take part as possible.

What is the FBH?

The aim is simple; to be the fastest team in your class to complete the 12 mile route. The route starts at Woodford Bridge (the triangle green outside Somerfields supermarket (686 Chigwell Road, IG8 8AQ) at Woodford Bridge junction of Chigwell Road / Roding Lane North / Green Walk) and finishes at the Groups Headquarters, The Stockade. The teams must check-in at all check points along the route.

The FBH is a test of physical ability as well as good map reading skills and teamwork.

The route follows the ancient boundary of Hainault Forest and when teams have signed up to the FBH2011, they will be given more information on; The Route; The Challenge; The Rules; The Kit List and The Route Card.

Once you have entered a team and have paid your entry fee, each team will receive the Event Booklet. This will include: the route card, the grid references, the team’s registration confirmation, and start time specific for that team. The route card will need to be completed as an activity prior to the event  and be brought with the team on 17th June. The entry fee also includes a FBH2011 t-shirt for each person taking part.

Teams must have entered by the 31st May 2011.

Teams will be a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6.
