The Building and Grounds team is responsible for the following;
Carry out maintenance works and ensure building and grounds remain in a useable condition;
Support the endeavours of the Group Executive Committee to provide a safe and attractive environment for our Scouting to take place in;
Plan and organise work days to assist with the general repairs and maintenance of the building and grounds;
To present a regular report to the Executive Committee;
To provide budget requirements for maintenance schedules;
Work with the Assistant Group Scout Leader (Special Projects) and assist with the planning and implementation of the redevelopment of the Stockade;
To provide short, medium and long range maintenance plans and estimated costs for approval by the Group Executive Committee;
Day to day management of the cleaning provision; and
Ensure the building and grounds comply with all relevant legislations.
This team is headed up by the Groups Building Manager, Mark Carter. Mark is responsible for the effective day to day management of the Stockade and the surrounding Grounds. At the outset it was envisaged that this team would be made up of those who are skilled in the building trade or have skills in Health and Safety or other legislative compliance issues.
As members of this team are providing Active Support to the Group, they are members of the 1st Hainault Group Scout Active Support Unit. If you feel that you have a skill or interest that would be relevant to this team and would like to get involved, then why not join us in our adventure.
