The Group Scout Active Support Unit (SASU) of the 1st Hainault Scout Group is designed for one purpose - for those who wish to support Scouting. Scout Active Support is a way for you to volunteer some time to Scouting in a flexible way that suits you. It is open to everyone over the age of 18 years and you don't even need to have been previously involved in Scouting. All you need is a willingness to give some of your time.
Being part of the Group Scout Active Support Unit means you will make friends and be able to join in with whatever you want to do. Aside from this, the Group Scout Active Support Unit will run social events and activity programme.
The Group Scout Active Support Unit has one aim - to provide Active Support to the Group's activities. Active support means whatever you want it to mean, it includes all of your skills irrespective of your age and ability. It can be anything from physical, mental, technical or simply just general support that you provide. Everyone has something to offer Scouting so why not become part of our unit.
The Group's Unit was formed back in September '09 and was the first in the country. Since then the Unit has organised a Bonfire Night, completed a number of grant application, held numerous Work Days and has even had an article in Scouting Magazine!
